On Wednesday 24th June, Central Car Auctions embraced World Cup fever with a fun day of football fundraising, raising vital funds for a local organisation that is making a big difference to football lovers in Glasgow.
Easterhouse Football Academy is a non-profit charity allows hundreds of young people in the east end of Glasgow with to enjoy football, while developing vital life skills and healthy relationships. To raise money for the charity, Central Car Auctions Head Office employees were encouraged to ‘sport’ their favourite international football team shirt for a modest £5 donation.
And while wearing their favourite team’s shirt, employees were also able to demonstrate their footie skills in a ‘Beat the Goalie’ challenge. There was plenty to celebrate, with employees raising a very impressive £500, which was matched by Arnold Clark for a total of £1000 – a cracking effort!
These funds will go a long way for Easterhouse Football Academy, who are dedicated to improving their community through the power of sport and teamwork. Started in 2020 by Daniel Cameron with the aim of making football more accessible, the organisation provides over 180 youngsters aged 4 – 18 with the coaching and support they need to develop their football skills at FarePlay Stepford Football Centre.
